HHSAA ADVISORY: HHSAA RESCHEDULES SPRING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS DUE TO WEATHER

HONOLULU – The Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) has announced essential schedule changes for its ongoing spring state championship tournaments following disruptions caused by severe weather conditions. Affected sports include girls flag football, boys volleyball, and track & field.

Athletes, coaches, schools, and spectators are advised to carefully review the updated tournament structures, times, and venues detailed below.

 

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL

To accommodate the adjusted timeline, changes have been made to tournament format. All upcoming games will be hosted at Mililani High School.

All consolation games will feature shortened 10-minute quarters with no advancement; these games can officially end in a tie at the conclusion of regulation play. Please note that third-place consolation games will not be played.

 

Division I:

  • Fifth-Place Semifinal: Waianae vs. Punahou — 2:30 PM

  • Fifth-Place Semifinal: KS-Kapalama vs. Konawaena — 4:00 PM

  • Championship Final: TBD — 7:00 PM

Division II:

  • Consolation Championship: Kauai vs. Hawaii Baptist — 10:30 AM (Play will resume at the start of the 3rd quarter, with Kauai leading, 14-0)

  • Fifth-Place Semifinal: Hawaii Prep vs. Waimea — 11:30 AM

  • Fifth-Place Semifinal: KS-Hawaii vs. Honokaa — 1:00 PM

  • Championship Final: TBD — 5:30 PM

 

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

The highly anticipated Division I boys volleyball championship match between #2 Moanalua and #1 Punahou has been rescheduled. The championship final will now take place on Saturday, May 16 at 6:00 PM at Pearl City High School.

 

TRACK & FIELD

All preliminary trials events originally scheduled to take place on Friday, May 15 have been officially postponed. The state track and field meet is now scheduled to resume on Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 AM at Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, Kunuiakea Stadium.  All running events will be timed finals.  Check Athletic.net for schedule and results.

Admission tickets for all HHSAA State Championship events must be purchased digitally via a mobile device through GoFan at https://gofan.co/hhsaa.

Major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay will be securely accepted at the stadium gate entry points. Please note that cash sales are not accepted at any venue.
