On this date in 2003, Kim Willoughby led all attackers with 21 kills and hit .472 as then No. 2 UH swept No. 6 Minnesota 30-20, 30-18, 30-18 to open up the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic. Lily Kahumoku added a double-double (11 kills, 15 digs), while Maja Gustin chipped in 9 kills. Lauren Duggins would record 8 kills as the Bows outhit the Golden Gophers .387 to .180. Another UH middle blocker, Maja Gustin chipped in with 9 kills and a .421 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Kanoe Kamana`o had 36 assists, 4 digs and 2 aces.
