In the battle between two neighbor island teams, and two teams looking to win their first DII State Title, the Kapaʻa Warriors broke four HHSAA Tournament records and beat the Kamehameha Maui Warriors in the 2021 First Hawaiian Bank HHSAA DII State Championship Game.

Junior Solomone Malafu, who was a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball amassed 152 rushing yards, 4 TDs, 5 tackles, and 1 interception. Malafu also ran for the 98 yard TD to set the record for longest rushing TD in HHSAA tournament history.
