For the last six days since Timmy Chang was hired as the 25th head coach of the University of Hawaii football program, the Hawaiʻi football community has rallied in support of the former record-setting Saint Louis School and UH. This morning, Chang did his first radio interview as head coach on the Bobby Curran Show. Among other things, Chang expressed his gratitude for having the opportunity to coach at his alma mater and said he’s ready to go to work with his team.
Later in the afternoon, UH student-athletes from various sports, alumni, the UH band, families and students welcomed Chang at the Stan Sheriff Center. Chang spoke about wanting to give the current players the experience that he had in Aloha Stadium by bringing back an exciting brand of football that the state, fans and players can get behind.
