Mililani was coming off of an impressive win over the No.4 tournament seed Kealakehe, winning that game 25-0. But as Mililani searched for their first state title since 2015, the most recent state champions, Iolani had something to say about that. Entering as the No.1 tournament seed, Iolani survived and advanced by Campbell to arrive in the semi-final round.
Despite the Trojan’s hit production, which outmatched Iolani 12-9, three costly errors lead to two 4-run innings for the Raiders which Mililani could not replicate. The Raider’s Allie Capello started on the bump and pitched for 2 innings, giving up only 2 hits and no runs. Ailana Agbayani recorded the win for Iolani as she came in to pitch for 5 innings and allowed 4 runs on 10 hits. Agbayani also went 3-for-4 and added 3 RBIs. The Trojan’s Dani Monroe was given the loss as she pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 8 runs on 7 hits. Mililani’s Kolbi Kochi and Kaui Garcia both had a great night at the plate, hitting 3-for-4.
