This semi-final game between Maryknoll and Kapolei was shaping up to be a good one. Previously, Maryknoll put up double-digit runs against Leilehua and the No.3 tournament seed, Baldwin to advance into this semi-final round. The No.2 tournament seed, Kapolei was looking dangerous as well after their first-round bye; they bolstered 21 runs in their quarterfinal win against Kaiser, 21-5.
The Spartan’s Jannalyn Sniffen pitched a complete game and held Kapolei’s bats to only 3 hits. And for Maryknoll, the bats stayed hot, especially for their second baseman, Carys Murakami who went 3-for-4 and recorded 3 RBIs. The Hurricane’s Jerzie Liana pitched a complete game and allowed 9 runs on 12 hits. Liana picked up a hit for herself and recorded an RBI as well.
