The Nationally Ranked Mission Viejo Football Program stepped onto the turf at Mililani High School to take on the No.2 state ranked Mililani Trojans on Friday, August 12, 2022. Mission Viejo wasted no time, marching down the field and scoring on their first possession of the game on a 19 yard pass from Kadin Semonza.
Mililani’s offense struggled to find an answer for Mission Viejo’s pass rush through the first half. Down 20-0 late in the second quarter, Mililani’s Raymond Roller broke free and brought the Trojans an opportunity to put points on the board. With two seconds left in the half, 16 yards out from the endzone, Mililani’s Treston McMillan found Gavin Hunter in the back of the endzone.
Out of halftime, Mission Viejo struck again on a 3 yard touchdown run from Hinesward Lilomaiava. Mililani scored twice in the 3rd quarter, both on deep passes. Lehiwa Kahana-Travis’ touchdown was from 74 yards out and Davyn Joseph’s was from 41 yards out. The score stayed the same through the 4th quarter and Mission Viejo came away with a 34-21 victory.
Mililani falls to 1-1 on the year and will look to bounce back next week against Kailua.
