The Nanakuli Golden Hawks maintain their undefeated record against OIA DII schools as they take down the Kaimuki Bulldogs 42-20 at Roosevelt High School.
In this highly anticipated match up between two powerhouse OIA D2 schools, the Bulldogs struck first with an 8-yard touchdown pass from Josiah Hicks to Iosefa Letuli. However, after a slow start from Nanakuli’s offense, the team scored 31 unanswered points which ultimately carried the Golden Hawks to their sixth win of the season.
Senior quarterback Hansen Salausa-Kaawa threw for 229 yards and 4 touchdowns. Salausa-Kaawa also rushed six times for 50 yards and a touchdown.
The Golden Hawks improve to 6-1 overall and will finish their regular season play against McKinley this Saturday, October 8 at 6pm at Nanakuli. For the Bulldogs, they fall to 3-4 overall and will look to bounce back against Kalaheo this Saturday, October 8 at 6pm at Farrington.
