In the first round of the 2022 OIA Open Division playoffs, Kahuku dominates Kapolei 44-7 on a beautiful Saturday night on the north shore. Kahuku fired on all cylinders giving the Hurricanes problems all night long. The first points of the game came in the second quarter, with a 17-yard touchdown from star wide receiver, Kaimana Carvalho. Quarterback Waika Crawford found the endzone three times through the air, accounting for 213-yards passing.
The second half went in favor for the Red Raiders with two touchdown runs which put the game on ice for Kahuku. Kapolei finally got on the board in the fourth quarter, courtesy of Tryton Keliikipi’s 11-yard touchdown run. Kahuku improves to 9-2 on the year, while the Hurricanes finish the season 6-4
