Kaiser Softball is one of three teams in the OIA DI East to improve to 5-1 on the season. Against the Castle Knights, the Cougar’s Keira Uegawachi pitched a complete game only allowing one run and helping Kaiser to win the game, 6-1. Rylee Yamasaki and Amai Hanta stayed hot at the plate for the Cougars as two of the state’s leading hitters with batting averages of 0.750 and 0.579 respectively.
Castle’s Camille Kumai-Kahalewai had herself a great day at the plate as she hit 3-for-4. Castle drops to 2-3 and will look to bounce back on Friday against Moanalua. Kailua is next on Kaiser calendar and their game is slated for Friday afternoon as well.
