A thrilling back and forth playoff game between Roosevelt and Kaiser came down to a two-point conversion call late in the fourth quarter. With less than two minutes left in the game, the Cougars’ quarterback Sean Connell rushed for his fourth touchdown to give his team a change to tie the game at 35-35 with a successful extra point conversion.
However, the Cougars decided to go for two which would’ve given them the lead and put the pressure on Roosevelt. Kaiser called for a screen play that was busted by the Rough Riders about a yard before the goal line.
Roosevelt’s Quarterback, Ioane Kamanao amassed 302 passing yards and four touchdowns. On the receiving end, Jahsiah Souza-Armstead caught 6 passes for 122 yds and Keawe Davis caught 8 passes for 101.This win gave Roosevelt their first state tournament berth since 2019.
