The Waialua Bulldogs, led by Kanoe Santiago, clinched their second consecutive league title in a thrilling five-set showdown against Waipahu. Santiago’s 22 kills and 23 digs were instrumental in the win. The Bulldogs triumphed with scores of 25-21, 25-18, 18-25, 19-25, and 18-16, captivating a crowd of 800 spectators.
With this victory, the Bulldogs head into the state tournament with a strong record, winning nine of their last ten matches. Despite a valiant effort, the Marauders’ three-game winning streak came to an end.
Waialua, as the second seed, is set to face the winner between Damien and Ka’u in the quarterfinals of the state championship.
