The Kapa’a Warriors clinched the DataHouse/HHSAA Division II Softball State Championship with a decisive 13-1 victory over defending champions PAC-5 at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Kapa’a, the top-seeded team and KIF champions, ended their season with a perfect 15-0 record, securing their first state title since 2022.
The Warriors’ offense exploded with 12 hits, building a commanding lead after just four innings. Senior second baseman Rhea Furtado, who contributed significantly to the win, expressed pride in the team’s achievement and resilience.
Kapaa’s journey to the championship included overcoming weather-related schedule changes and dominant performances in earlier rounds, defeating Aiea and Kohala. PAC-5, despite being a young team, showed promise throughout the season and made a strong run to the final.
Key players for Kapa’a included Sienna Yamashita, Charlize Kenney, and Karlee-Rose Keale, who pitched 3 1/3 innings of no-hit ball.
