The opening night of prep football saw Kamehameha edge out Leilehua with a gritty 10-3 victory in a defensive showdown.
The game’s pivotal moment came when Kamehameha’s Ezra Forges, stepping in as quarterback, found Noah Aki for a 20-yard touchdown pass. This followed a crucial fumble recovery by defensive lineman Peyton Costa. Offense was hard to come by, with both teams combining for just 313 total yards, but Kamehameha’s defense held firm, forcing three turnovers.
Leilehua, though resilient, couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities, managing only a 30-yard field goal from Rodel Alano. Kamehameha added a late field goal to extend their lead and secure the win.
