Liatama Amisone led the Kapolei Hurricanes to a commanding 68-8 win over Waipahu at the Alvin Nagasako Sports Complex, finishing the night with four touchdown passes and rushing for two more scores. Kapolei bounced back from last week’s loss, improving to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the OIA Open Division, while Waipahu dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in league play.
Senior quarterback Liatama Amisone passed for 281 yards and accounted for six touchdowns. His primary targets were Zayne Pasion, who caught seven passes for 104 yards, and Maui Remigio, who added four receptions for 93 yards. Kapolei’s offense totaled 494 yards, while their defense limited Waipahu to just 173 yards.
Next week, Kapolei faces Farrington, while Waipahu will take on Kahuku.
