Hawaiian Kingdom National Team embarks on 2024-25 season with Australian Tour

The Hawaiian Kingdom National Team is set to represent Hawai’i in the 2024-25 season, kicking off with an international tour in Brisbane, Australia from October 4-11. The team will participate in cultural exchanges and compete in basketball matchups against the Queensland Indigenous Team and a Gold Coast-based Māori team. Additionally, they will challenge two U18 teams from the Bayside Jets and Southern District Spartans, both part of Australia’s NBL1 (second division professional league).

This year’s team features 10 talented players from Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island, with athletes representing schools like Campbell, ʻIolani, Kamehameha Kapālama, Konawaena, Nānākuli, and Punahou. The coaching staff includes Head Coach Sasha Montez, Assistant Coach Bri Lagat-Ramos, and Ke Aupuni Hawai’i Athletics Director of Women’s Basketball, Shawna-Lei Kuehu.
