Roosevelt reigns as OIA Division II champions once again, overpowering Kaiser with 34 unanswered points for a decisive 34-3 victory and back-to-back league titles.
Kaiser, with over 1,500 rushing yards this season, looked strong, but Roosevelt’s defense held them to 80 yards, with linebackers Ezekiel Soon and Taimane Souza-Fautanu combining for 19 tackles. Aggressive coverage allowed Roosevelt to shut down the Cougars’ run game.
Quarterback Ioane Kamanao led a dominant offense, throwing for a career-high 316 yards and two touchdowns. Keawe Davis posted 114 receiving yards, and Izaiah Nakamura added a 49-yard pick-six.
Both teams move to the HHSAA Division II State Championship on Nov. 16, with Roosevelt hosting Kamehameha-Hawaii and Kaiser facing PAC-5.
