The ILH season tipped off with a thrilling game between the ʻIolani Raiders and the UH Lab Junior Bows who returned to the division one level for the first time since 2012.

ʻIolani Aidan Wong made 11 of 12 free throws and racked up a game-high 23 points to help the Raiders defeat the Junior Bows, 59-54 in overtime. Iolani made two clutch three-pointers with less than a minute left in the game to tie the game and ended up outscoring the Jr. ‘Bows 7-2 in the extra period.

Iolani’s Declan Beckette and Ayden Goo contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively, while UH Lab’s Todd McKinney and Trey Ambrozich led their squad with 18 and 16 points.

The Raiders will take on Mid-Pacific on Thursday, while UH Lab will face the three-time defending state champs, Saint Louis on Monday.
