Friday night’s Seariders Football Boosters Hail To Thee Gala 2025 was one to remember. ❤️💙🏈
The evening was dedicated to raising funds for the Wai‘anae Seariders Football program and honoring a true icon — former Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Larry Ginoza.
Coach Ginoza took over the program in 1965 and led the Seariders for two decades, building one of the most respected football dynasties in Hawai‘i. Under his leadership, Wai‘anae captured nine OIA titles and three Prep Bowl championships between 1965 and 1984. But more than the wins, Coach Ginoza built a culture — rooted in discipline, respect, and pride — that transformed generations of young men on and off the field.
On Friday, Coach was welcomed by many of his former players, who shared heartfelt stories of how he impacted their lives well beyond the gridiron. He was presented with the #1 Seariders football jersey and a certificate of recognition from Wai‘anae district representative Chris Muraoka.
Mahalo, Coach Ginoza, for your decades of leadership, mentorship, and service to the Wai‘anae community. Your legacy continues to inspire. 🤙🏽
