Alexander Volkanovski successfully defended his featherweight title vs. former champ Max Holloway, winning via split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47). However, fellow MMA athletes and fans were shocked by the final decision of the closely contested battle.
Shoutout to Rose and Max they robbed max tho but 💯 to the real fighters out there 💯👊🏼

Thought that was Max, great fight!

I’m sorry but that was not a good decision I had Holloway winning the first 3 rounds. Volkanovski closed the distance and took Round 4 easily, plus win around 5. But I had him losing the fight 3 Rounds to 2. Bad decision in my opinion.

I guess I don’t know how to judge a fight cuz Max Holloway won that to me.

Today didn’t go as planned. I got caught, @BlessedMMA got robbed. As the true champ says “it is what it is”. #liveandlearn #teamhawaii #wellbeback pic.twitter.com/mPrQRhMMDU

Crazy to think that Max Holloway, the man considered the “greatest” featherweight of all time has lost consecutive FW title bouts without being put in danger once in 10 rounds against that opponent • Its a brutal sport in so many ways #UFC251 @BlessedMMA #UFCHawaii #HawaiiMMA

I had Max winning 3 rounds. Should’ve been perfect trilogy fight setup. https://t.co/Ba28mObMVv

We have a lot of different opinions in Hawaii — frozen poke, mayoral candidates — but we’re all in agreement with this: @BlessedMMA was robbed!

Even after a tough defeat, the “Hawaiian Kickboxer” took time to promote the auction for his UFC 251 fight kit to benefit the Hawai’i Foodbank.
🚨AUCTION: LINK IN BIO🚨 Aloha my friends. Unemployment in Hawaii is one of the highest in the US, so I’m auctioning off my fight worn kit from UFC 251 with all the proceeds going to the @hawaiifoodbank. Thank you to @visitabudhabi @ufc for the hospitality and keeping us safe. pic.twitter.com/HNpe3uwIBr
