Girl’s Varsity Softball | Kamehameha 12, Punahou 10 | Photo Gallery

The Kamehameha girl’s varsity softball team started off the ILH playoffs with an exciting victory over Punahou, winning the game 12-10 in a double-elimination round.

It was a day to have home runs, Punahou’s Lexi Hinihara dialed up one home run but it would be Kamehameha that had a strong home-run-hitting day. Kezia Lucas impressively had 2 home runs while Naveah Telle, Mariah Antoque, and Daylee Williams each had their own.

The game was closely contested throughout, with both teams trading blows on the offensive end. Kamehameha was able to build a lead early on, but Punahou fought back to tie the game in the middle innings. However, Kamehameha was able to hold it down in the last inning despite Punahou’s last 4-run inning in an attempt to comeback.

The victory gives Kamehameha a positive start to the playoffs and sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting postseason run.
