In the second semifinal of the day, it was a battle between the Damien Monarchs and Waipahu Marauders.
The Monarchs bats started off hot as they put up three runs in the top of the first inning to force a pitching change for the Marauders.
After Damien added a run on to their lead in the top of the fourth inning, Waipahu responded with a couple of runs of their own to cut their deficit to 4-2 at the end of the fourth inning.
Fast forwarding to the bottom of the seventh, with Damien leading 5-4, the Marauders had a chance to tie or take the lead but squandered the opportunity as Damien got the final out and advanced to the HHSAA Division II State Championship game against Kauai.
