The State of Hawai’i is progressing with the development of a new Aloha Stadium, slated for completion by the 2028 University of Hawai’i football season.
Governor Josh Green has initiated a request for proposals from private developers for the entire 100-acre stadium district. This collaborative effort between the public and private sectors aims to inject $2 billion into the economy through construction spending, creating 12,000 construction jobs and over $600 million in wages.
The new stadium, featuring a minimum of 25,000 seats, will host diverse events and contribute 4,500 units for workforce housing. Developers have until February 2024 to submit their qualifications.
