Kamehameha exploded with 30 points in the first quarter, setting the tone for a dominant 44-6 victory over Waipahu at Kunuiakea Stadium on Friday night.
Maddox Sharrer started the scoring frenzy with an 88-yard kickoff return. Shortly after, Jevin Bolos-Reyes connected with Ty Perkins on a 34-yard touchdown pass, doubling the lead to 14-0. Special teams added a safety from a blocked punt, followed by a 75-yard return touchdown by Nui Kaapana, making it 23-0. Bolos-Reyes and Perkins linked up again to close the quarter at 30-0.
Waipahu’s only score came in the third quarter on a 2-yard pass from David Vidinha to Titan Figueroa, but Kamehameha continued to dominate, adding two more touchdowns in the second half, including Bolos-Reyes’ third TD pass of the night.
Bolos-Reyes finished with 104 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Nainoa Melchor led the ground game with 71 rushing yards. Despite the loss, Waipahu’s Tristan Pacheco managed a game-high 102 rushing yards.
