For the first time since 2021, Saint Louis is heading back to the state tournament. The Crusaders took home the ILH Open Division title with a commanding 33-9 win over Kamehameha, racking up 511 yards of offense and avenging their October 5 loss. Titan Lacaden led the way with four touchdowns, marking a strong end to his senior season.
Saint Louis scored on its opening drive, with a 1-yard pass from Nainoa Lopes to Lacaden for an early 6-0 lead. Kamehameha quickly answered as Pono Kahaulelio broke loose for a 50-yard touchdown, but a missed PAT kept the score tied at 6. The Crusaders then regained the lead on a Lopes pass to Jordan Nunuha, going up 13-6.
After Kamehameha added a field goal to make it 13-9, Saint Louis swung momentum with a successful fake punt, setting up a Lacaden touchdown before halftime for a 19-9 lead. The Crusaders’ defense locked down in the second half with two interceptions, while Lacaden added two more rushing touchdowns, finishing with 146 yards on 25 carries.
With the win, Saint Louis moves on to face Campbell in the HHSAA Open Division semifinals on November 15.
