Saint Louis overcame a 14-point deficit to defeat Campbell 27-24 on Saturday, securing a spot in the Open Division state championship against rival Kahuku. Running back Titan Lacaden powered the Crusaders with 261 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter.
Campbell dominated early, leading 17-6 at halftime, but the Sabers’ offense stalled in the second half after quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele left with a rib injury. Saint Louis capitalized on key defensive stops and turnovers, with Lacaden’s touchdowns fueling their comeback.
The Crusaders, seeking their first state title since 2019, will face Kahuku on Nov. 29 in a rematch of their season opener, which Kahuku narrowly won 14-13. This marks the 11th state final meeting between the two storied programs.
