This past Saturday, Kahuku and Saint Louis secured their spot in the First Hawaiian Bank HHSAA Open Division Football State Championship Game. Kahuku looks to knock off four-time champion Saint Louis on Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at Edwards Skippa Diaz Stadium.
The Kahuku Red Raiders posted 334 offensive yards and held Campbell to under 135 yards in their 21-0 win. Kahuku’s Jason Mariteragi passed for 115 yards and 2 TDs and rushed for 36 yards and another TD. With this win, Kahuku maintains an undefeated season at 9-0.
The exciting battle between Saint Louis and Mililani featured a handful of lead changes and ended with a 38-yard field goal which gave the Crusaders a two-point margin in the late stages of the fourth quarter. Saint Louis won the game, 27-25. This was the first game that Saint Louis played in six weeks since they defeated Kamehameha in the ILH Championship Game.
